3 miles slow, 2x2.9 miles slow, 5.7 miles tempo

Went out before breakfast in the rain for 3.03 miles, to Lochburn Road and back, at an average pace just inside 8:00/mile. In the evening I ran up to training for the first time in months. The route was supposed to be 5 miles and the fast pack was different from previous weeks. We left Garscube Estate via the top gate at a fairly slow pace and then lost a lot of time when we didn't manage to cross Switchback Road and got stuck at Anniesland Cross. By the time we got to Danes Drive we had reached 6:30/mile or faster. The rest of the route took us up Westland Drive, along Southbrae Drive and back up Crow Road. I had some tightness behind my left knee and fell off the pace after about 4 miles, but after struggling up the last hill I managed to cut the deficit to about 50 metres by the end, finishing in 41:02. The distance turned out to be 5.69 miles which gave me a 7:13/mile average overall. Managed to run back down the road without any trouble.
