3.3 miles steady, 7.6 miles steady

Ran the same West End route before breakfast, again in the Newton Distance S. It came out not too badly for a morning run, 23:47 for 3.29 miles, average pace 7:14/mile, HR 136.

Pace splits (ave. HR): 7:30 (133), 7:05 (138), 7:04 (137), 7:19 (141)
HR zones: 3.4%, 58.8%, 37.8%, 0%, 0%

I had noticed a gradual increase in lower back pain but thought I could run through it in the evening, starting in Garscube Estate, down Maryhill Road and Garscube Road to Cowcaddens, along Great Western Road to Anniesland Cross and back to the Garscube Estate via Crow Road. Back pain subsided after a few miles leaving just some pain in my right calf and right foot. Finished the run OK, 7.62 miles in 52:59, 6:57/mile, HR 143, but I couldn't even manage a jog afterwards and had a little trouble walking on my sore foot after I got home. I had thought the adiZero Tempo were maybe coming to the end of their life but it seems more likely that I have been using the Distance S too heavily and may have to find another general purpose shoe for the time being.

Pace splits (ave. HR): 7:25 (134), 7:04 (140), 6:53 (140), 6:51 (140), 6:57 (147), 6:45 (148), 7:03 (150), 6:23 (147)
HR zones: 1.5%, 24.3%, 74.2%, 0%, 0%
