6.1 miles slow, 6.1 miles hard

Went out in the morning with Natasha down to Botanic Gardens where we met Tanya, then ran up Queen Margaret Drive and up Maryhill Road to the locks, where I headed back along the canal as far as Speirs Wharf, down the steps, over the footbridge and back up Garscube Road. It came out at 6.07 miles, time 51:51, average pace a leisurely 8:33/mile, HR 131. HR a bit higher than I would have expected in the first mile or so. Wore the death boots (Nimbus) for better ankle stability.

Pace splits (ave. HR): 8:36 (144), 9:39 (122), 9:19 (121), 8:04 (132), 7:50 (136), 7:53 (137)
HR zones: 11.9%, 69.8%, 17.6%, 0.8%, 0%

In the afternoon I repeated last Saturday's route, in the adiZero Tempo as before. I was aiming for somewhere inside 6:45/mile but managed a faster pace without any trouble, although three hard runs inside a week is pushing it a bit. Calf felt far better than at any time since Thursday. Finished the 6.10 miles in 38:52, average pace 6:22/mile, HR 160.

Pace splits (ave. HR): 7:05 (163), 6:24 (157), 6:14 (155), 6:12 (156), 6:13 (163), 6:05 (164), 6:31 (166)
HR zones: 0.2%, 0.1%, 47.3%, 52.4%, 0%
