4.2 miles easy, 1.9 miles easy, 2x2.2 miles hard, 1.6 miles recovery

Ran the Cleveden Drive / Queen Margaret Drive route before breakfast, 4.23 miles in 31:51, average pace 7:32/mile, HR 137. Wore the Kalenji Eliofeet as the Vomeros were still soaked. Once again it came out slower than I expected, apparently for more effort than on Tuesday morning. I think the Eliofeet may not be particularly responsive.

Pace splits (ave. HR): 8:10 (126), 7:26 (135), 7:19 (140), 7:19 (145), 7:06 (147)
HR zones: 4.0%, 55.0%, 41.0%, 0%, 0%

The club training session was a 7-mile run with two tempo sections. We ran down to Crow Road via Fifth Avenue and Whittinghame Drive at an easy pace. The two mile loop took us back up Crow Road, up Anniesland Road and along Southbrae Drive. Ben was disappearing ever further into the distance, and as the 2-mile marker seemed to be slightly short I thought I might as well just continue at the same pace as far as Crow Road to see if I could catch up at all before the second lap, but it didn't help. The second lap was slower than the first but still just inside 6:00 per mile. I could feel some left IT band tightness. Ran back to Garscube Estate at a recovery pace afterwards, and then stood around for too long and could hardly muster a jog back to the car. Driving back home, there had evidently been heavy rain in Maryhill at some point.
